The New-Build

Our new Events Building, has significantly increased the size of the museum, and in addition, enables us to put on, not only multiple, large special event displays inside if the weather is bad, but it also gives us space to put on additional events, whenever we wish without using space in the exhibition halls. The Events room has some unique RAF displays around the edges, and an Authorised Licensed Bar (open for Special Events only). There is an enclosed RAF office display, which is part of the aircraft control tower. Along the entrance corridor we have a First Aid post

Adjacent is the Hangar in which we can display the Hawker Hurricane fighter plane we restored. It can also be used as an additional space, with a dance floor, a stage, event lighting, a cinema screen, sound equipment and plenty of space for tables and seating. Outside is the concrete hardstand for the Hurricane, plus, a Memorial Garden. The entire building is in use for the museum whenever we are open, and already we have put on and hosted additional events, from afternoon teas, an Antiques Fair, a Militaria Fair, to several musical evening events and dances. The Events Building as a whole, or just one of the two areas can be hired for wedding receptions, ‘milestone’ birthday celebrations, anniversaries, corporate events, group events, thank you parties – you name it, we can arrange it, and in addition, live 1940s music and singing from performers we know well, and trust implicitly!
